Autonomous Cars: Despite Safety Concerns, Majority of Consumers Still Interested

Study Highlights Consumer Perception on Safety of Self-Driving Vehicles

Key Findings from Survey on Autonomous Car Ownership

A recent study conducted by Roland Berger has revealed that despite safety concerns, the majority of consumers are still interested in purchasing self-driving cars.

The study, which surveyed over 5,000 people, found that 62% of respondents would still buy an autonomous car, even if they had concerns about its safety. This suggests that consumers are becoming more accepting of the technology and are willing to overlook potential risks for the convenience and safety benefits it offers.

However, the study also highlighted that there are still some lingering safety concerns among consumers. 38% of respondents expressed concerns about the reliability of self-driving cars, while 32% worried about the potential for hacking or cyberattacks.

Despite these concerns, the study concluded that the majority of consumers believe that the benefits of autonomous cars outweigh the risks. 67% of respondents said they would be willing to give up driving altogether if self-driving cars were widely available, suggesting that consumers are embracing the potential for this technology to revolutionize transportation.
