WNBA Liberty Team: History and Overview
The New York Liberty are a professional women's basketball team based in Brooklyn, New York. They compete in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) as members of the Eastern Conference.
The Liberty were founded in 1997 as one of the eight original WNBA teams. They played their home games at Madison Square Garden until 2010, when they moved to the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. In 2019, they relocated to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
